Casanova 'Behind These Scars' Private Listening Event

On the evening of October 3rd, 2019; the Brooklyn native Casanova, held an exclusive listening party for his new album Behind These Scars, at the legendary Patchwerk Studios in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. With this being the opening day of the BET Hip-Hop Awards, Casanova saw this as the perfect opportunity to touch the people, and to showcase his growth as an artist.

This event brought out fans, celebrities, media personalities and musicians, alike. Patchwerk is a studio known across America, and even abroad. Iconic figures such as Mariah Carey, Nas, Lil’ Wayne, OutKast, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Beyonce, Usher and Jay-Z (just to name a few), have all recorded music here; and you could feel that energy the moment that you stepped foot into the building. Casanova, along with his team, arrived shortly after 9pm, and they were welcomed with open arms from everyone in attendance. Since entering a partnership with Warehouse Music Group/RocNation in 2017, Casanova has become a legit businessman, and has increased his visibility on a national scale.

Set for an official release on October 11th, Behind These Scars is 10-tracks deep, with features from Fabolous, Chris Brown, Gunna, Young Thug, Jeremih, Kaycyy Pluto and Giggs. His album listening event on Thursday night set the tone for the weekend to come. With plenty of influencers in town for Saturday’s award ceremony, Casanova gave a select few a look into his experience growing up in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York; as well as an in-depth visual of the emotions that came with his newfound fortune and fame.

The listening party commenced with the album’s intro, Jail Call. It was a conceptual song, with Casanova phoning in from prison, speaking to his loved ones. Everyone in the room remained silent, outside of the occasional head nod due to its melodic production. Since 2015, Casanova has made a progression as a lyricist, at it shows throughout Behind These Scars. The Chris Brown assisted Coming Home, will surely serve as the project’s radio hit. Casanova is widely regarded as a street rapper, so cuts like this adds variety to his catalog, and will broaden the scope of his fanbase. Judging from the energy in the room, Stay Wit It, So Drippy (ft. Gunna & Young Thug), and the banger So Brooklyn (ft. Fabolous), where clearly some of the crowd’s favorites.

As time went by, Patchwerk Studios became filled with more inhabitants, notably Rugs, one of Dusse’s Brand Ambassadors and friend of Casanova. The open bar also provided a laid-back atmosphere to compliment with the aggressive feel of some of the album’s content. There were some technical issues with the sound at points during the evening, and sometimes the building felt congested due to the amount of people in the recording studio. These were the only cons to take away from an overall successful event.

Casanova’s upcoming album, Behind These Scars, will be available in stores, and on all digital streaming platforms on October 11th. Be sure to check it out and support an artist on the rise.
