Sinead Harnett & EARTHGANG Give Us Intimacy in New 'Take Me Away' Visual
Sinead Harnett got with EarthGang in a new video for her song "Take Me Away". This visual is the epitome of California love. Sunshine, palm trees and long drives, with the top down. Beautiful imagery for a beautiful song.
Sinead is one that is known to come hard with the vocals. The presence in her tone glides over beats like butter, with dope lyricism to match. A love song for 2020, Sinead's angelic harmonies mixed perfectly with Johnny Venus', 1/2 of Earthgang, neo-soul voice. His eccentric tone and vocal range added some flare to the indie soul vibe. (I love when rappers get into their singing bag). This is definitely a song that can be played amongst several genres!
This video gave me a very artistic feeling in shot preferences and styling. Images of different skin tones and genders, laying upon one another showed levels of intimacy and openness. Each shot felt almost freeing, just like the lyrics are entailing; take me away. I also like the fact that this video ends with actual footage of each dancer, as a confessional, and a complete casting list. As a person who's remains in the background of productions, I thought this was a cool way to break that 4th wall with the audience. It is rare that the original auditions of the casting calls are shown to the masses. Though it may seem minute, this added another realm to this visual and song for me. Things like this are super appreciated to a creator!
Although it is December, this video made me feel warm and happy inside. And with the song being SUCH a bop, I already know I'm letting this ride all the way through summer 2021!
